Happy New "Program" Year!
July 1, 2023 marked the beginning of a new program year (PY) for the Pee Dee Workforce Development Board and its SC Works workforce system initiative. It is traditional for many people to begin a new year with new plans and goals, but to also reflect upon the successes and challenges of the year that just ended. PY '22 was a great year for the Pee Dee Workforce Development Board!
Here is a bit of statistical information for you. From July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, SC Works Pee Dee provided 933,067 services to 19,379 distinct individual job-seeking customers. During the same period, 15,937 services were provided to businesses! (Source: SC Works Online System) From these statistics, we can be proud of the impact SC Works Pee Dee has had on the efforts of local job seekers and employers in our Region.
We look forward to working with the Board in the coming year to carry out its strategic priorities and to taking the opportunity to promote workforce innovation in our local area. After all, innovation and opportunity are at the center of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
